Hammer Typeface (2009)

“Hammer Highlight” was originally drawn as a corporate typeface for photoeditor Monica Pozzi and is inspired by the headlinefont “Block” from 1908. As Monica wanted to use the font for analogue applications like stamping the already inky and wobbly outline of  “Block” was straightened out. To get rid of the geometric, art-

nouveau-style the glyphs were redesigned in a more humanistic manner. Later on we added highlights to the letters to create a font that looks as heavy and glossy as a freshly baked donut.
